I just found out my friend may have testicular cancer?
My friend who is only 26 just found out that he may have testicular cancer. I can see he is very sad about this and goes in for testing today. I want to get him something to cheer him up, just something small. Does anyone have any ideas?
So sorry to hear bad news, but this is a very curable cancer. I’d help him by doing some research for him, because the last thing he wants to do is sit at a computer and read about it.
Besides a gift, find articles of guys who’ve been thru this and done well, what helped them, and find a local support group for him. Present this is clear easy to read info for him with phone numbers.
Maybe have someone call him who’s been thru it.
I’ve seen many guys do fine and are completely cured, but they must follow thru with their treatment.
You could also give him IOU’s, like a funny card or booklet of IOU’s you make, for foot massages, to run his errands, or cook for him, or something when he’s not feeling well. (He’ll probably undergo chemo and/or radiation at some point.)
It’s essential to have friends and support, so don’t let him isolate himself and keep trying to bring up his spirits. Don’t pity him, make him laugh.
Good luck to you both.
