Is there any natural cure for colon cancer?
My Mother has has colon cancer for about 3 years now & the chemotherapy was never helping her. About a month ago I found out that the cancer has spread in the lungs and breasts, she also has Internal bleeding. I hear that there are natural cures that the doctors do not speak of, but I really need help because she is dying. My question is, do anyone know of any natural medicines for cancer that could help my Mother?
About the best chance she might have is becoming part of a clinical trial for a new treatment. You should ask her oncologist if there are any in which she might participate. There could be a medicine that could help her … but even if not, she could be helping future generations fight the disease by helping bring tomorrow’s treatments to market.
I have blood in my stools sometimes, does that nescesarily mean I have colon cancer?
Yes,I don’t know if I really have colon cancer or not.And I am to embaressed to ask my doctor if I do,considering the fact that I would have to tell him that I have blood in my stools.
Though blood in the stool may not necessarily mean colon cancer, it is important to have it checked by a doctor.
As some of the others have mentioned, the color of the blood in your stool is significant. Bright colored blood could mean hemorrhoids and dark colored blood must surely be investigated.
I am familiar with colon cancer because my dad and grandma died from it. Most of the time in the initial stages, there are hardly any symptoms. But once you pass out blood, it could already be stage one. But stage one colon cancer means that the survival rate is more than 90% and the patient need not go through chemotherapy.
So, even if it is colon cancer, early detection can help you survive to a ripe old age. So I would suggest that you go see a doctor immediately. There is nothing to fear. In fact it will give you peace of mind.
A friend of mine had blood in his stools and he thought he has hemorrhoids. He delayed seeing a doctor for 6 months. In the end, his whole rectum had to be removed and a colostomy has to be constructed to allow feces to flow out from his stomach into a bag. He no longer has control over his bowel movements.
I hope you see a doctor immediately because too many people have ignored the early warning signs.
BTW, no one here can tell from your symptoms whether you have or do not have colon cancer. Even the doctors cannot tell unless you go through a colonoscopy and have a fecal occult blood test.
You make your own decisions. We are not qualified doctors here. So, take what others say with a pinch of salt. That includes me!
Cheers!
how many fruits per day i should eat to prevent colon cancer or polyps?
i dont feed much on veggies cos i dont have time to cook. so i try to substitute it with fruits. how much fruits i need per day to prevent the horrible death of having colon cancer which leads bowel interuption and consequently vomitting fecal matter?
i eat 2 bananas per day but im not sure it has enough fibre in it. now i added 1 piece of apple to my daily diet. is that enough?
I have been researching diet for cancer patients (see more on www.after-cancer.com) and you need to eat more fruit and veg.
Doctors recommend AT LEAST five portions a day – veg. are better, but fruit is good. Why not snack on carrots sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc?
But no diet can prevent cancer – all it can do is make you healthier so that if cancer comes, you are better able to recover. There is a lot of research that says that fruit and veg might prevent colon cancer, but so far no-one has come up with a definitive statement.

Does anybody know if green stool could be a sign of colon cancer?
Today when I went to the bathroom, my stool was greenish. It almost looked like it had green moss growing on it. Does anybody know if this is a sign of colon cancer? I’ve had other colon cancer symptoms as well lately and I have a doctors appointment scheduled for July 6th.
I’ve never heard of green stool being a symptom of colon cancer, but I am just curious.
You wouldn’t have happened to maybe eat some green veggies in the last few days? No, it’s not a sign of cancer. What would your other symptoms happen to be?
My girlfriend’s father has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. What should I do to help her?
We’ve been dating for little more than three years, and I’m on a somewhat familiar basis with her family. The doctors don’t know in what stage the cancer is and he’ll be going through testing throughout the month. She’s pretty broken up about it, but I’m not particularly sure how to go about comforting her.
Greetings!
I have recently been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. The process of testing helped to eliminate guessing. My consultation after the test to discuss options, took away much of the apprehensive thoughts. It seemed that once the news was out, many of my friends had stories and experiences. Some of their comments were helpful but some would have been better left unsaid.
I think you can best encourage your loved one by letting her know that you are there for her if she need to cry or talk. Just be her friend. You do not need to become an expert on the cancer. Encourage her to love on her dad with words of encouragement and love. A hug and a kiss on the cheek will do wonders.
Dad needs the chance to become his own expert on the subject and the confidence that his family will support the decisions he makes about a course of treatment.
This is how I feel. Sincerely, Chas G-a future cancer survivor
When someone has cancer in the last stages does it make them mean and do they start to make up things?
My father -in- law has prostate /bone cancer and is in the last stages. He has become so mean that no one can handle being around him. He has always been very hard to get along with but now it is impossible because he makes things up all the time about members of the family and tells everyone what to do. I mean this is really extreme he even threatened to kill one of them because she drove on the road he had said not to drive on. He was not joking when he said it. Now he keeps making up stories about people he doesn’t even know. Oh and he is still going to work so he isn’t lying in a bed being made to feel like he is useless.
Is this related to the cancer? Is the time near? What do we do to make him more comfortable and make it easier on him so he will stop saying hurtful things? He has never been nice but it is now getting out of hand. What should we do?
He is in the last stages. The doctors said. He is no longer responding to chemo, radiation or any drugs. He has to take pain meds now till the end.
Just let you all know he is not on morphine.
I show him more than a bit of compassion. That is why I have asked these questions. I wanted to know how to make him more comfortable and I wanted to know how to handle this. For the person who says "show a bit of compassion" I’m sorry that you can’t see that this is what I’m trying to do here. Also maybe next time you should "show a bit of compassion" to those who are dealing with this first hand.
It is not uncommon for cancer patients to become dillusional. Towards the end, they may sometimes have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality. My dad had brain cancer, and I know how hard it can be. My grandmother also had bone/breast cancer. She was in a lot of pain and was also very hard to deal with. At the very last stages, she often told stories of things that didn’t happen and saw things that weren’t there; especially with the meds.
All you can do is try to make him comfortable, try not to let his attitude get to you, and make his last days enjoyable. I know its hard to do, but you’ll feel better that you did.
How bad is it when doctors use radiation as treatment for stage 4 colon cancer?
My best friend has stage 4 colon cancer. She’s only 24 years old. She told me that they are going to start radiation, what does that mean? I read about how they do it, but how bad does it have to be before they do radiation?
Just as the poster before me, they do radiation even for Stage 2 cancers. I have to get radiation for Stage 3B Breast Cancer I was officially diagnosed as cancer free but I have still have to go thrut he radiation as a safety measure. All Stage 4 cancer is bad but that does not mean that she can’t beat it–people beat statistics all the time. Keep a positive attitude and my thoughts and prayers are with you and her and the family during this difficult time.
How do doctors check you for colon cancer?
If I went to the hospital to get checked for colon cancer, what would they do to me to find out? How do they find out? And about how much do you think it will cost? And if I did have colon cancer, what treatment would they tell me to take?
I’m trying to keep this question more general, what would they usually do? What would they normally do or recommend to anyone?
If your signs and symptoms indicate that you could have colon cancer, your doctor may recommend one of more tests and procedures, including:
1.Using a scope to examine the inside of your colon. Colonoscopy uses a long, flexible and slender tube attached to a video camera and monitor to view your entire colon and rectum. If any suspicious areas are found, your doctor can pass surgical tools through the tube to take tissue samples (biopsies) for analysis.
2.Using dye and X-rays to make a picture of your colon. A barium enema allows your doctor to evaluate your entire colon with an X-ray. Barium, a contrast dye, is placed into your bowel in an enema form. During a double-contrast barium enema, air also is added. The barium fills and coats the lining of the bowel, creating a clear silhouette of your rectum, colon and sometimes a small portion of your small intestine.
3. Using multiple CT images to create a picture of your colon. Virtual colonoscopy combines multiple computerized tomography (CT) images to create a detailed picture of the inside of your colon. If you’re unable to undergo colonoscopy, your doctor may recommend virtual colonoscopy.
4. Earlier and initially by conducting Blood tests. Your doctor may order blood tests to better understand what may be causing your signs and symptoms, but there are no blood tests that can detect colon cancer. Blood tests may include a complete blood count and organ-function tests. -
A. With the test results of the above the doctor will confirm if you have colorectal cancer and advice you for further treatment planning depending of various conditions.
Costwise it vary from contry to contry and unless we know where do you stay it is difficult to tell. This one you have to find out locally from an Onclogist or Oncology hospital.
Generally as done for most of the cancers you will have to undergo treatments viz. Surgery, Chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The quantum of cycles of these treatments will be decided again on the basis of seviarity of your disease. -
Please do not worry for the expesnes. You have to carry on the treatments suggested by the Oncologist and try to cure the disease as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA -

Prostate cancer question?
My dad found out recently that he has it. It’s stage one and he’s going with radiation treatment. He’s going to an excellent hospital with world class docotors. I’m worried though, cause he’s my dad. Does anyone have experience with this disease? I know I’m asking for answers but I gotta say I just don’t want to hear any horror stories please. The doctors have given him a really good prognosis, I guess I’m looking for reassurance. Thanks!
My dad is almost 57 and otherwise very healthy.
In the spectrum of cancers, prostate cancer is a relatively "whimpy" cancer. 80% of men by age 85 will have prostate cancer. Most die with it and not of it. Some professional societies debate whether we should even be screening and treating for prostate cancer.
I bet your father will do very well (world class doctors or not).
