It sounds like you are having a hard time managing your symptoms. Stress is something that can trigger a manic episode, I've been there, done that. Are you on a mood stabilizer? I am also bipolar, and taking Seroquel. It does help with the mania side of things. If you are not on medication, you should talk to your doctor about that. Or check with your local suicide hot line. If you can, make other arrangements to go visit with your father as soon as possible.
